Vincent Reed Ltd was selected to carry out restoration of the original period woodwork including the panelling, oak beams, solid oak flooring and interior doors.

Previous owners include Henry VIII, Thomas Cromwell and more recently Lady Reading, who founded the Women’s Royal Voluntary Service and was the first woman to take a seat in the House of Lords in 1958.
The Manor was once part of a Grange of St Pancras Priory in Lewes – the administrative centre for the monastic farms of the district. The oldest part of the building dates back to about 1200, with more ‘recent’ parts being altered and added in the 15th century.
The interior boasts magnificent oak-panelled walls, vast stone fireplaces, lancet windows, a barrel-vaulted ceiling in the principal bedroom and a peephole from the original 12th-century priory.
