Incorrect iron brackets had been used to repair the tops of the legs

To remove the damaged wood behind the iron bracket, the leg was sawn at an angle.


On a spare period leg, the
same angle was cut, spliced and glued in place.

 
       

Where the bracket had marked the rails, wood patches were
scribed and glued.

With the leg back in place, you
can see the improvement.

After colour-matching, the
repair is unnoticeable
