About Us

The Vincent Reed company started life as a furniture restoration and manufacturing business. We incorporated Country Oak (Sussex) Ltd in 2006, a company which had been dealing in timber, particularly reclaimed oak flooring, for over 15 years. Drawing on our expertise in interior timber, we immediately introduced a floor fitting service and expanded the range to include new oak and antiqued flooring.

What Next?

Upon making an enquiry, we will talk to you about your requirements and provide you with images and literature about our work. If you wish to see samples of our products, there are large samples on display in our Keymer Showroom. Alternatively, we can send you small samples in the post at a nominal charge (this charge is reimbursed if you proceed with an order). We will give you an idea of price according to your requirements and, if this is suitable, arrange a convenient time to visit your property so that we can provide you with a free, no obligations, written estimate.

Fitting

On receiving confirmation of your order, we will arrange a suitable time to fit the floor. You do not need to be present for the installation; we just need access to the room. The room must be clear of furniture and any existing floor covering (this is a service we provide and you should discuss this with us before we provide the estimate). You will find our fitters courteous and professional and we endeavour to keep any inconvenience to you at a minimum.

Finishing

As full BAFRA (British Antique Furniture Restorers’ Association) accredited restorers, we understand the importance of the right finish. To get the most out of the wood, we select the appropriate finishing process for each individual floor, taking into account the requirements of the timber and the customer’s desired look. We will discuss the options available to you prior to providing the estimate.

Supply Only

Character grade new oak If you have carpenters already working on a project or if you are able to fit the floor yourself, all our flooring products are available to purchase on a ‘supply only’ basis.
